Su'mae! I’m Andy, a freelance Animator, Illustrator, and Director based in Cardiff, South Wales. I mainly work in motion graphics across TV, advertising, and social media. But if you asked me where my passion truly lies, it’s in 2D character animation! I’m a big believer in powerful storytelling, fuelled by intricate characters.

I’m also a bit of a nerd—massively into TV and games—so I get especially excited about world-building projects. Even better if they involve the gaming space!

With eight years in the animation industry, I’ve built a solid knowledge of both TV and studio workflows, from directing scripts, storyboards, and animatics to developing creative content across a range of platforms. My style and approach are adaptable to fit the project, whether that’s leading a team or working under a creative director.

I primarily use the Adobe Suite. Including After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Animate, etc. In my downtime, I love sketching in Procreate for the funzies. Although 2D is my thing, I’m familiar with Cinema 4D, which might come in handy too.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with some brilliant clients, including Haribo, Decathlon, Sharp, McCain, and S4C. Through these collaborations, I’ve gained a strong understanding of brand awareness and consistency across platforms.

I love projects that are bold, exciting, and break the mould. I thrive in environments where creative freedom and trust are given to the design team—where we can push boundaries and create something truly unique, without excessive client oversight.

As an added bonus, I waste a lot of time doomscrolling on TikTok and Insta, so my pop-culture and meme knowledge is pretty ‘refined ‘. Some call it useless, but no doubt social media managers will call it gold!
